Save Your Brush Size for Consistent Sketches

Hi,

In the beginning, it takes time to figure out the right brush settings. Outline weight, stitching details, opacity of your shading are all the little choices that make a sketch feel like you.

But once you land on your signature look, it’s helpful to keep those settings consistent. Maybe you're sketching two garments on the same canvas, or working on separate canvases on different days—matching line weight and shadows makes your work look more polished and professional.

The good news: Procreate makes this incredibly easy. You can actually save your brush size and opacity so you can return to them anytime.

How to Save Brush Settings

  1. Open the brush size or opacity slider

  2. Tap the + symbol

  3. This creates a Brush Setting Memory—basically a bookmark that saves your settings across all canvases

  4. You can save up to four

  5. To delete one, tap the symbol

Get More Precise Control

If you want super-specific brush sizes (even tiny incremental adjustments), try this:

  1. Grab the size or opacity slider

  2. Move your pencil away from the sidebar

  3. Drag up or down

The further away your pencil is, the finer the control.
Perfect for technical sketches and small details

Works for Every Brush

Brush Setting Memory isn’t limited to one brush—it works for every brush in your library, including figure brushes and templates.

This means you can set a consistent figure and template size to that matches your canvas size. So helpful for cohesive portfolios!
